Not all Canadians have equal opportunity to access and thrive in a meaningful job that they are suited to. Workers who are at risk of falling further behind due to the COVID-19 pandemic need support to improve their ability to participate in the labour market.

The FLMM is focused on helping all Canadians to access labour market opportunities, particularly vulnerable populations in Canada who are facing obstacles to finding and maintaining employment. Key areas of work include:

  • monitoring and leveraging support for workers most at risk of being impacted by COVID-19.
  • identifying skills training options to better include underrepresented groups in the Canadian labour market.
  • leveraging policies that will help workers achieve labour market attachment and assist employers with worker attraction and retention.
