Availability, access, and user experience of labour market programs can vary across Canada. Complementary federal, provincial and territorial programs that are responsive to changing labour market conditions play a key role in supporting an efficient and competitive Canadian economy.

The FLMM is developing solutions to deliver services that meet the needs of clients everywhere in Canada to support a skilled workforce that can adapt to a shifting labour market environment. Key areas of work include:

  • increase and enhance responsiveness, flexibility and capacity to respond to evolving labour market needs through the Labour Market Transfer Agreements (LMTAs).
  • promote program complementary and implement coordinated approaches to client-focused services.
  • improve the exchange of information and data on federal, provincial and territorial programs, and leverage evaluation reporting on the LMTAs, to better understand impacts and coordinate employment, training and income support programs.
